WHY DO YOU LOVE BARTENDING?

There are countless things I love about bartending, so here is just a short list. First, one of my passions is entertaining and hosting parties. Bartending is the closest I can get to throwing parties for a living. Secondly, my childhood dream was to be a chef, and before I stumbled upon Gorilla Cinema, I was in culinary school, working in a kitchen, and on track to be a full time pastry chef. Working in a craft cocktail environment is perfect for me because I love the aspect of creating and combining flavors. Finally, I am nocturnal and there are not a ton of professions where you can go to bed at 4 am and sleep until after noon, so that's a big plus for me.

WHY DO CUSTOMERS COME TO SEE YOU?

I'm not really sure how to answer this, because I literally have no idea why people keep coming to see me, but if I had to guess, I think that I do a really good job at making people feel welcome. I also have the gift of gab and can talk to anyone about anything, so I think a lot of people like that about me. I can relate to people in a lot of different ways, which I guess is something that my customers appreciate.

WHAT DRINK DO YOU REGULARLY MAKE AT HOME?

I don't really drink a lot at home, but if I'm having a cookout or a party or something, it's honestly either PBR, Rosé, or bourbon lemonades. I consider bourbon and lemonade to be my signature drink, so I'll go with that.

WHAT DO YOU SHOOT?

Bulleit bourbon with a Sprite back - a lot of Sprite because I'm very bad at doing shots and have to do mine in two or three parts.

WHAT'S YOUR TARANTINO CHARATER?

It's a bit of an obscure one because the movie was written by Tarantino but not directed by him, but it's Alabama Worley from a True Romance. Alabama is one of two female film characters that I aspire to be like - she's fun, fearless, adorable, and strong as hell. She's passionate, friendly, loves fiercely, and would do anything for the people she cares about. Plus she's got a killer sense of hooker-chic style. Just thinking about Alabama sets my heart a-flutter.

WHOS YOUR WORK WIFE + WORK HUSBAND?

My work wife is Erin Fox. She's my mentor, my best friend, and my role model. I have learned so much from that lady and I look up to her so much. At Video Archive, I wouldn't say that I necessarily have a work husband, but I definitely feel like Jason and Jj are my work brothers. They look out for me, tell me if I'm acting up, keep me in check, and joke around with me. I've never had older brothers, but working with these guys give me a little sense of what it must be like.

DO YOU HAVE AN IRRATIONAL FEAR?

Okay, this is a really weird one so brace yourselves. My irrational fear is gourds. Like the fall decoration. It stems from a book a read as a child called "Follow the Drinking Gourd" - I have vague memories of what the book was about, I think it was the Underground Railroad or something similar, and there was this really scary guy in it, and I used to lay in bed awake at night as a child just being frightened of this man from this book. So I think I just associated gourds with this man. Plus, I think they are so repulsive-looking that my stomach turns if I see them. My family and other loved ones particularly enjoy texting pictures of gourds to me, sending them to me in the mail, and decorating with them excessively in the fall. It's very horrible for me.
